Responsibilities

Arcfield is looking for entry-level SYSTEMS ENGINEERS to join a skilled, highly respected and long-standing "Cross Creek" team that has been supporting a vitally important federal government space mission for over 40 years. The program provides acquisition of space and ground communications capabilities, system engineering and technical assistance (SETA) to the government; helping them acquire space and ground systems that continually evolve to stay on the leading edge of technological advancement. This program provides the government with the best engineers in the industry, ensuring our nation stays the leader in space. Does learning about new systems and leading-edge capabilities interest you? Come learn and explore new technologies, new software, new hardware, and tools. Along the way, advise the Government by researching technologies, developing use cases, and comparing system capabilities. Help design, review and even test small to large systems, both new and monolithic. That's what a SETA does in a nutshell.

The selected candidate will:

  • Conduct acquisition planning and systems integration for satellites and associated ground systems ensuring the systems will meet the government's needs.
  • Engage in typical engineering activities to include space and ground acquisition planning and strategy, developing the system architecture, documenting the requirements, testing the system's segments, and managing the operations of the systems.
  • work with a diverse team of engineers, to include development contractors, government personnel and program senior engineers, while learning how to leverage specific engineering disciplines (i.e., software, mechanical, aerospace, electrical, civil engineering) to accomplish the team's goals.
  • Act as the Systems Engineering & Technical Assistance (SETA) to the Government customer on various systems-related activities, to include acquisition planning, oversight and advisement on development programs.
  • Explore emerging space to ground technologies that ultimately enhance national security capabilities
  • Learn the latest digital engineering tools and concepts (like MBSE) in order to create a digital ecosystem that powers interoperability and enterprise integration at a whole new level.
  • Use a holistic approach, acquisition planning, design, develop, evaluate, and modify end-to-end systems through their full systems or engineering or software development life cycle.
  • Generate quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics, largely using the Agile methodology.
  • Ensure requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods.
  • Translate high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and work with other engineering disciplines to develop lower-level detailed implementation requirements.
  • Participate in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts.
  • Translate high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and work with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop lower-level detailed requirements.
  • Generate system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures.
  • Review test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participate in the testing process to validate requirements.
