Rules and restrictions apply - Talent Acquisition will discuss eligibility with candidates Performs a variety of technical radiologic procedures using standard, portable and/or specialized x-ray equipment to apply prescribed ionizing radiation in order to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients' illnesses and injuries. Performs related tasks such as assisting patients in positioning for correct anatomical exposure, maintaining order and cleanliness of work area and performing routine clerical tasks. I. Major Responsibilities: 1. Prepares patient for exams as required and insures patient comfort and modesty at all times. Obtains and examines the requisition for imaging examination. Always checks patient identification band for inpatients and two methods of identification for outpatients before any procedure is performed. Obtains informed consent and/or contrast questionnaire when appropriate and consults with appropriate Radiologist regarding contrast administration, imaging protocols. Standard Staffing Level Responsibilities: 1. Complies with established departmental policies, procedures and objectives. All responsibilities are essential job functions. II. Position Qualifications: License/Certification/Education: Experience/Skills: Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements. Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description.Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents. III. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions: Work is considered medium. Position requires work indoors in a normal patient care environment.
