Position Highlights |
The College of Engineering office of Graduate Education is seeking applications for a Graduate Recruiter (Recruitment Professional II). This position will assist in the operation and management of recruitment and enrollment of graduate students (i.e., recruitment, pre-enrollment counseling, Next Steps Center, new student orientation). The Graduate Recruiter strives to provide each student with a welcoming experience that assists in building their connection to the university and establishing their identity as a member of the Wildcat Family. The position will provide logistical and personnel support for the enrollment of a diverse population of graduate students in all of the Engineering graduate programs. The qualified candidate will be responsible for collaborating with each of the departments in Engineering to determine enrollment needs and locating talented students to fill those positions. Recruiting will involve speaking to undergraduate groups, participating in recruitment fairs, using social media and software programs to locate and communicate with prospective students, and offering opportunities to current undergraduate students to engage with current graduate students and faculty. This position requires the ability to travel (locally, regionally and/or nationally ) and could have occasional night and weekend hours. A flexible work schedule may be available for this position. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Assist with recruitment and retention for graduate programs in all departments within the College of Engineering.
- Utilize administrative software and ongoing strategic communication to encourage applications for admission, and ultimately enrollment to graduate programs. Strategies include in-person appointments, phone calls, email, and social media.
- Implement and maintain communication plans with timely responsiveness to inquiries (RFI and email follow-up) based on discipline specific knowledge.
- Responsible for the creation and execution of enrollment plans to meet enrollment targets.
- Analyze graduate enrollment data to evaluate/determine college and department needs.
- Maintain working knowledge of the College of Engineering graduate programs and University admissions processes and practices to inform and assist in advising students.
- Work effectively with College of Engineering department directors and coordinators to effectively engage them in the recruitment and retention process.
- Collaborate with Graduate College for onboarding and communication plans for prospective students.
- Work with the Senior Coordinator and Marketing and Communications team to develop communications and marketing strategies for programs and initiatives (email, print, web, and social media).
- Coordinate effectively with brand marketing team and lead generation partners with demonstrated skill with social media, video, and composition.
- Participate in Team Meetings.
- Search on a consistent basis for new and unique opportunities for student interaction and engagement.
- Represent the College of Engineering at recruitment, community-based, and/or industry functions.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Knowledge of effective social media skills, including Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively to small and large audiences in presentations, via telephone, email, virtual, or in-person meetings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience with Zoom and/or other virtual meeting platforms.
- Previous experience coordinating programs, preferably related to recruitment or outreach.
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
- Experience with working in a university setting/higher education.
