Summary

Responsibilities for the Accounting Intern include journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger and financial statement analysis, and reporting and communicating the results to the appropriate level of company management. The intern will be treated as a full-time employee, with three paid holidays, and a fun-energetic atmosphere that emphasizes work-life balance. This internship will challenge you but also provide you a fun, corporate experience! As part of this program, you will also network with other interns and employees across the company.

Minimum Requirements

Actively enrolled in an accredited college or university undergraduate degree program. Must show ongoing achievement in areas of study and training.

Major Accountabilities

Intern duties may include the following:



  • Under general supervision, performing balance sheet reconciliations and financial account analysis.
  • Critically assess routine issues and formulate recommendations to properly safeguard Company assets and improve operations.
  • Interact with coworkers and managers to clearly communicate accounting issues and/or concerns.
  • Working in various areas in accounting related fields including Financial Reporting, Asset Accounting, Regulatory Accounting, Accounting Systems, Energy Accounting & Compliance, and Accounting Operations.
  • Comply with GAAP, GAAS, IIA standards, FERC, and company procedures to ensure objectivity, independence and professionalism.

In order for employees to build strong relationships and to promote meaningful in-person interactions, hybrid employees are expected to work about 40% of their time in-person at an APS or other (non-home office) location.
