The Department of History and Political Science invites applications for Part-Time Instructors for fall 2024 or summer 2024. Part-Time Instructors are hired on a semester-by-semester basis to teach history and/or political science courses.
The successful candidate is expected to teach introductory and advanced level courses by the Department of History and Political Science. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: teach face-to-face and/or online courses, attend training and/or review sessions. Additional duties will include, but are not limited to, academic advising of students, supporting student organizations, participating in program development and assessment. The candidate will be expected to work cooperatively with faculty and staff in the department and university. |

The Department of History and Political Science supports over 180 undergraduate and graduate majors along with providing general education courses for the university.
The Department of History and Political Science has rich and diverse study and degree options. Departmental courses are designed to develop skills in written and oral communication, ethical reasoning, critical thinking, intercultural and global awareness, and scholarly research. The department's rigorous curriculum promotes the development of reason, an understanding of the past and reflective inquiry to inspire informed, engaged citizens.

We offer undergraduate degrees
in
History and
History Education as well as minors in History, Military Leadership, and African American/African History. Our graduate program offers
Master of Arts in Teaching degree. In addition to history courses, we offer courses in geography.

We offer an undergraduate degree in
Political Science, and a minor in Political Science. We also offer our students the opportunity to become engaged in social and political activities such as those carried out by the
A&T Four on February 1, 1960. As well as opportunities for our students to become engaged in international activities such as the
Model United Nations.

Minimum Requirements |
To teach History courses candidates must have a Master's degree in History at time of application.
To teach Political Science courses the candidates must have a Master's degree in Political Science at time of application. |
