Recreation Therapist - Psychiatric Unit

Part-time, 5 X 5 hour/week, first shift - 9:00a-2:00p (M-F)

Job Description:

The Recreational Therapist provides recreational therapeutic activities to patients admitted to the inpatient behavioral health unit at Baptist Health Hardin.

• Works with patients who are facing mental health, substance use disorders and dual diagnoses to set goals and improve activity of daily living.

• Assists patients in participating in activities aimed to improve physical, mental, emotional, and behavioral health through creative techniques, practices, and outlets.

• Participates in treatment team staffing and collaborates with treatment team as needed.

• Provides activities to patients receiving hospital-based services throughout the behavioral health service line.

Requirements:

• High school diploma/GED (or higher) required.

• One year of experience in recreation therapy required.

• Certification in the state of KY as a Recreation Therapist is required within one year of hire.

• BLS from American Heart Association (AHA) - required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor or master's degree in Recreational Management, Therapeutic Recreation or related field preferred.

• Behavioral Health or Acute Healthcare setting experience preferred.
