JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Management and Organization (M&O) in the Smeal College of Business at The Pennsylvania State University seeks a full-time Term Teaching Faculty of Management to start in the Spring of 2025 (or, under specific circumstances negotiated with the faculty member, Fall of 2025). Term Teaching faculty in the Smeal College of Business have a primary focus on teaching and contributing to the teaching mission of the school by bringing business knowledge, experiences, and perspectives to the classroom and by advancing the goal of student-centeredness. A successful teaching record is therefore required.

We are interested in someone who can teach a breadth of in-person classes within the Department of Management and Organization. Classes may include (but are not limited to) Business, Ethics, and Society (MGMT 451W), Managing a Diverse Workforce (MGMT 445), Global Strategic Management (MGMT 481), and Strategies for Enterprise Sustainability (BA 441).

Term Teaching faculty in the Smeal College of Business are hired on an annual contract, are expected to teach 21 credits per academic year (or its equivalent), and are eligible for promotion (ranks of Instructor, Assistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, and Teaching Professor or Professor of Practice).

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual who will enjoy working in an interdisciplinary and collaborative departmental environment. The position is an ideal appointment for individuals wishing to concentrate on:

  • teaching courses in management in a business setting

  • and performing related activities such as mentoring and advising students

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree or equivalent education and experience required
