The Designer I&C participates in a team environment
consisting of engineers and designers to produce construction
documents for the following systems: Instrumentation and
Controls, Telecommunications, Fire Alarm, and Security.


Explore your tasks and responsibilities

  • Assists in developing technology systems construction
    documents using architectural background layouts and system
    performance requirements defined by the project team including
    the architect, engineer and project manager
  • Assists senior staff with services during construction,
    including responding to RFIs, shop drawing and submittal
    review, and as-built drawings
  • Assists in pre-design project activities, such as site
    assessment, site plan review, and verification of as built
    conditions
  • Assists in developing projects in compliance with
    engineering codes, standards, principles, relevant
    specifications and contractual requirements
  • Assists project team to find optimum system solutions,
    routing, materials, and space management for equipment and
    various cable distribution systems
  • Assists in the production of construction documents under
    the supervision of a Professional Engineer and coordinate with
    other disciplines
  • Assists in development of construction drawings,
    specifications, details, schedules and diagrams for electrical
    and lighting systems
  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project
    deliverables
  • Mentor interns and junior members of project teams
  • Other related design services include coordination with the
    designs of other trades (architectural and engineering/
    internal and external)
  • Assists in performing quality control reviews of work
    developed by others
  • Other duties as assigned

Show your expertise

  • 3+ years of experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate's degree with technical focus preferred
  • Good time management skills, strong work ethic and
    attention to details
  • Proficient in the use of Autodesk Building Systems Software
  • Individual must possess strong communication and
    organizational skills
  • Strong team player with an ability to build effective
    working relationships
  • Energetic and self-motivated
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products
