Job Description

Skyworks is seeking a full time Sr. RF Test Engineer for its Woburn, MA based characterization lab. As a member of the team, you will perform automated RF characterization measurements based on test plans provided by applications and design engineers to prove device performance. Your responsibility will include operating automated test stands, including calibration, RF measurements and accuracy checking of cutting-edge RF chips. Our products include WLAN Power Amplifiers, LNAs, Switches, Filters and Directional Couplers. You will work directly with design teams located on multiple Skyworks locations to drive the future of global interconnectivity by acquiring data necessary for delivery of full compliance matrices.The successful candidate will be an effective problem solver and a proactive process owner.

Note: This is an evening shift position (3pm -11:30pm).

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute RF test plans to prove device performance
  • Analyze test data and prepare characterization reports
  • Lead and/or participate in cross-functional teams to support engineering test projects
  • Develop new techniques to streamline the characterization process
  • Develop test data processing scripts
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and running setup validation tests to guarantee accuracy and repeatability
  • Demonstrated ability to bean effective problem solver, proactive process owner, and a self-starter

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of experience in RF component testing
  • Familiar with common programming languages such as visual, c++, LabView and python, and experience with databases such as Mongo, SQL and MySQL
  • Proficient with test equipment including RF sources, pulse generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers, power meters, power supplies, and digital multi-meters
  • Knowledgeable in RF Test. Testing includes s-parameters, noise figure, power, pulsed power, TOI, DEVM and harmonics to mention some.
  • Knowledgeable in GPIB, IEEE 488.2, serial communications
  • In depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD$89,100 -$172,100 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
