Job Description

Selected team member for the RF SiP Module Design Engineer position can work at various location of Skyworks, San Jose, CA (preferred), Woburn or Andover, MA; Irvine, CA. We are seeking engineering talents with expertise in designing RF/Microwave System in Package products containing RFICs, LNAs, Acoustic Filters and PAs. As part of RF SiP Module Design Team, you will be participating in developing cutting-edge, state-of-the-art PA, RF switches, LNAs and front-end modules for Automotive and IoT applications to enable the industry transformation to next generation super data highway. #LI-SG1

Responsibilities



  • Participate in all phases of product development, including product definition, architecture, system budget, transistor-level circuit design, Multi Chip Module design, layout/layout supervision, lab debug and production support
  • Own and lead lab experiments to identify root cause of RF/Functionality related FEM performance issues
  • Work closely with a team of EM Design Engineers, Lab Technicians, Validation/Optimization Engineers, Test Engineers and Package Engineers to tackle complex cellular RF front end issues
  • Prepare prototype build/assembly documentations such as Bill of Material (BOM), configuration matrices etc. for prototype build
  • Implement lab test and summarize/analyze lab result of RF Front end module

Job Qualifications

  • Solid expertise of RF concepts such as impedance matching, impedance transformation, distributed systems, passive RLC and resonant circuits, noise, linearity, bandwidth and stability
  • Strong circuit simulation skills utilizing Agilent ADS/GoldenGate/spectreRF and 2.5/3D EM tools such as Momentum, EMX or HFSS
  • Familiar with lab instruments including Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, RF Probe Stations, Noise Figure Analyzers and Load-pull Tuners
  • Strong lab skills in data collection/analysis, lab debug/tuning and product troubleshooting
  • A self-starter and team player with strong desire to learn on the job.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written and logic reasoning skills, capable of breaking down complex problems, setting priorities, report progress and execute to schedule
  • Present lab result, root cause analysis to broader audience and drive for best possible performance of RF Front End Module
  • Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering + 8 years, or MSc + 6 years experience


Preferred



  • Solid understanding of device and process technologies, module building blocks, including Power Amplifiers, Low Noise Amplifiers, RF Switches and Couplers, Filters and Multi-chip Module
  • Good understanding on acoustic filter such as SAW, BAW filters
  • Exposure to system architecture, circuit topology and multi technology circuit floorplan
  • Good understanding of RF systems and familiarity with wireless standards including 3GPP cellular 2/3/4/5G/6G, 802.11 WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth and more

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD$112,500 -$215,900 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others. Employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan, and certain roles are also eligible for additional awards, including recognition and stock.
