As a Senior Director, you will lead multiple design teams locally (including design engineers, techs, and validation engineers) driving our Cellular Front-End Module developments for smartphones and adjacent applications. You will be responsible for defining architectures, driving feasibility studies, and driving out cost, all while meeting aggressive customer development schedules with best-in-class performance and best cost. This combination of goals requires exceptional technical, business, interpersonal, developmental and inspirational leadership skills, combined with a natural desire to win through innovation, teamwork and execution at all phases.

Job Description

This position requires strong cross-functional team building skills, including Marketing, System Engineering, Program Management, Product Engineering, Test Engineering, Wafer Fabrication Engineering, Design Enablement, Component Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Operations, Finance and Human Resources. You must have an excellent understanding of high efficiency, low-cost power amplifiers and integrated RF front-end multi-chip modules (PAs, acoustic filters/duplexers, antenna RF switches, couplers, LNAs and all associated impedance matching) for the cellular mobile communications market. You must possess cross-functional leadership and customer interface skills. You must have demonstrated excellent communication skills and a passion for technical team leadership and development.

Responsibilities:




  • Overall leadership of multiple module designs currently in development for our largest customers. You will need to serve as the customer interface as well ensure that program development is on track and performance is leading


  • Detailed architecture, floor planning, cost estimation, schedule estimation, specification negotiation, resource estimation and risk assessment for identified new product development program
  • Resource allocation and tracking to help identify when additional projects can be initiated as well as the capabilities and limitations of available resources to execute any given program
  • Drive design methodology improvements, best practice adherence and overall compliance to Skyworks MSB Product Realization Process
  • Ensure new team members are properly trained and mentored, and all team members are developing to their full potential
  • Work closely with the product leads to ensure they have the necessary resources to meet critical goals, and set appropriate priority when resource conflicts occur
  • Participate in the recruiting, interviewing, hiring and on-boarding activities of top-notch talent
  • Provide regular updates to Senior Management on progress toward meeting our goals
  • Facilitate and lead detailed technical discussions with different customers to define architectures, drive rapid feasibility studies, and support system studies

Qualifications and Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master's preferred

* 15 years' relevant technical experience

* 6+ years' leadership experience

* Excellent presentation skills

* Strong data analysis skills

* Experience in Front End or Module level development

* Experience leading multidiscipline teams and working across boundaries

* Experience in team management

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD$178,400 -$376,700 per yearper year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others. Employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan, and certain roles are also eligible for additional awards, including recognition and stock.
