Kennedy Jenks is seeking an exceptional Project Control Specialist in the Seattle area. The Project Control Specialist will be responsible for the financial review of change management documents during construction. This position will support the Resident Engineer to develop, process, and maintain financial change management documents and is responsible for the review and approval processing of these documents.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Review and analyze engineering cost estimates for accuracy and determine if these estimates are feasible and within the constraints of project requirements. Process, review and route submittals, requests for information (RFI), request for changes (by owner, engineer, and/or contractor), and change orders on KJ projects.





  • Provide, collect, and analyze cost/change data and backup documentations for KJ's projects. Documentation includes inspector daily reports, contractor daily reports, invoices, time and material sheets, etc.





  • Prepare cost estimate and/or analysis reports for various KJ projects utilizing Inspector Reports to prepare quantity takeoffs of materials, labor and equipment as required.





  • Assist KJ project teams in development of construction management deliverables (internal and external).





  • Assist Project Control Engineers, Document Control Specialists, Construction Managers, and Resident Engineers as necessary.





  • Coordinate with project managers, Resident Engineer, and other teams members to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial metrics.





  • Provide input by reviewing contractor's monthly schedule.





  • Provide independent cost estimate for smaller change orders.



Qualifications:



  • At least five years of relevant working experience.





  • Experience working on construction projects in a document / financial oversight position either for an owner's rep or construction company.





  • Must have knowledge of Earned Value, Change Orders, and Cost Estimate review.





  • Experience in the water/wastewater industry is preferred but not required.





  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field is preferred but not required.





  • Applicable experience may be substituted for degree.





  • Experience with project management softwareand proficient knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint





  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record





  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.



Work location: This role will be based out of our Seattle office in a hybrid environment, with a requirement to be onsite 2 days per week.

Salary range for this position is anticipated to be $75,000 to $95,000, and may vary based upon education, experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications and geographic location.
