Position Summary:
The Assistant Branch Manager position is the driving force behind branch operations and teller management. With your leadership and expertise, you will be a key part in maintaining operational excellence in the branch. The Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations and activities. You are responsible for assisting the Branch Relationship Manager in interviewing and hiring new staff. In coaching and developing your teller team, you will lead your team to achieve performance excellence. Through strategic goals set forth by your Branch Relationship Manager, you will drive branch growth and employee development..
What you will do:


  • Assist the Branch Relationship Manager in leading, planning and managing branch financial performance.
  • Direct, manage and develop Tellers through effective coaching and training.
  • Be a team lead to Relationship Bankers and act as Manager on Duty when Branch Relationship Manager is out.
  • Inspire teller members of the branch team to achieve performance excellence and create lasting member relationships.
  • Create a positive culture, where teamwork is paramount, excellent member service is achieved and accountability is desired.
  • Assist the Branch Relationship Manager in recruiting, retaining, and hiring talent based on business needs.
  • Conduct quarterly and annual performance evaluations for all direct reports.
  • Build lasting member relationships internally and externally to contribute to achieving branch results.
  • Partners with Business Banking on joint business appointments, as needed, to build relationships with Small Businesses in the market. Attend community and volunteer events.
  • Communicates openly with team and possesses the ability to make tough decisions.
  • Manage and lead staff to conduct branch operations in accordance with our policy and procedures.
  • Manage operational duties within branch including but not limited to, cash levels, security procedures, accurate reporting, and audit packages.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of policies, procedures, and rules and regulations including robbery procedures.
  • Adapts to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands; changes approach or method to best fit the situation; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Collaborate with Credit Union partners to elevate member experience, system processes and relationship building for members.
  • Resolve member inquiries, complaints, and issues in a timely and effective manner, demonstrating a commitment to exceeding member expectations.
  • Process member transactions accurately and efficiently (i.e. deposits, withdrawals, transfers and more) when applicable.
  • Open deposit and lending accounts and complete maintenance for existing and new members when applicable.
  • Adhere to all company security processes and procedures.
  • Other job duties and functions as assigned by leadership.


What you will need:


  • High School Diploma or Equivalent G.E.D.: Associate degree preferred.
  • 1 years' minimum experience in a leadership role preferred.
  • 3 years' minimum experience in Retail Banking.
  • Ability to work all branch hours, including Saturday hours and some evenings, and travel as needed.
  • Demonstrates integrity and strong leadership qualities.
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of financial products and banking regulations.
  • Demonstrates strong relationship building and supervisory skills.
  • Demonstrates strong member advisory skills.
  • Demonstrates experience with/broad understanding of personal and commercial financial solutions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Notary Public preferred.
