Job Summary:

As the Print Production Manager, you are responsible for leading a team of up to 30 hourly team members in the Pressroom and 4 hourly team members in Pre-Press. The focus of this role is to coach and guide team members to achieve optimal performance in meeting production schedules, maintaining the upkeep on GossM600 and Hantscho machinery, strategic planning and change management. The Print Production Manager plays a crucial role in helping Walsworth become a leading provider of printing services by setting and exceeding performance goals.

Essential Functions:



  • Provide the department with the information, equipment, and support needed to ensure maximum productivity and scheduling requirements are met at the minimum cost.
  • Document, control and improve all manufacturing processes and procedures to achieve maximum productivity, minimize cost and scheduling requirements. Ensure documentation is easily understood.
  • Develop and maintain budgetary goals for the division.
  • Manage manufacturing equipment through maintenance of existing equipment, establishing new equipment requirements, installation of new equipment, etc.
  • Establish and maintain a quality assurance in the department.
  • Determine performance standards. Ensure employees' understanding and compliance with performance standards through establishment of accountability for work. Complete performance appraisals and conduct coaching and counseling sessions.
  • Ensure all safety and work rules and regulations are followed. Ensure departmental housekeeping standards.
  • Serve as liaison between other production departments, sales, and management.
  • Facilitate cross-functional continuous improvement task teams aimed at improving production processes and quality.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Must successfully complete any training or certification courses required to support or strengthen position.
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions, work procedures and other related materials.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong customer service skills.
  • Must communicate appropriate information accurately and clearly as needed.


Minimum Requirements:



  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of GossM600
  • Five years' experience managing a print production department.
  • Knowledge and experience with creating and maintaining budgets.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Windows based databases.
  • Knowledge and experience working on GossM600 equipment is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
