Position Summary

Family House Norristown is looking for a highly motivated Child Development Specialist to join our team. The Child Development Specialist is responsible for increasing parenting skills, focusing on intervention and prevention while enhancing the developmental potential of children. We offer a $1,500 Sign-On Bonus at the successful completion of your 90 Day Probationary period.

Essential Duties and Functions

  • Facilitate and document weekly and monthly parenting groups and sessions.
  • Complete all children admission assessments/documentation as scheduled
  • Complete children treatment plans a scheduled * Participate in Clinical Case Consultation, Treatment Plan Update meetings, Interagency meetings and clinical supervision.
  • Provide milieu therapy as required. (Implement/model intervention in the program).
  • Complete all pertinent documentation to include client sessions, interactions and other required paperwork to ensure compliance with funder state regulations.
  • Responsible for obtaining all birth records, social security cards and immunization within 21 no more than 30 days of admission
  • Escort residents on appointments as assigned.
  • Supervise Parent Support Staff and Life Skills Children's staff and provide at least monthly documented supervision.
  • Ensure daily operations reflects an individualized trauma informed approach
  • Ensure all assessments are completed as scheduled * Complete admissions assessments * Enroll and discharge all children into the Electronic Health System
  • Review children's' charts at least monthly to ensure compliance
  • Enroll children in school and recreational activities
  • Assist with organizing program outings that strengthen the family bond * Identify additional community based resources as needed
  • Assist participant with needs for children not residing at the program
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director(s) to ensure continuity of care and foster a supportive nurturing environment for growth.

Qualifications

  • Masters in SW; ECE or related field preferred.
  • 0-1-year experience in relevant field required.

Working conditions

This position is set in an office environment.

While performing the duties of the job, employees are frequently required to stand, walk, lift, and reach.

Must be willing to perform all job-related travel associated with this position.
