Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Coordinator for
UBHC- Acute Psych Services- Piscataway. In collaboration with Program Manager, this role functions as a member of the clinical and administrative leadership team in the Acute Psychiatric Services (
APS) program. Primarily responsible for providing supervision to multi-disciplinary staff. Will ensure compliance with all regulations.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Supervises staff in the APS program
- Performs duties relevant to a leadership position supporting goals and objectives of the University Behavioral Health Care.
- Maintains appropriate consumer/patient records as mandated by University Behavioral Health Care policy
- As required by individual program, assumes direct care responsibilities for consumer/patients and provides individual, group, family supportive counseling, crisis intervention, psychoeducation, and case management services as clinically indicated.
- Performs duties relevant to a leadership position and supports goals and objectives of University Behavioral Health Care.
- Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all consumers, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Master's Degree in a related mental health field
- Plus four (4) years of postgraduate experience in related community mental health and/or case management work.
- Licensure to practice as required by New Jersey state laws governing the discipline.
- Applicants possessing a degree in Social Work must have an active New Jersey certification/licensure as required by the State Board of Social Work.
- Licensed in New Jersey to provide mental health services as an independent practitioner (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, psychology license).
- Eligibility for certification as a Psychiatric Screener in the state of New Jersey is required.
- Must have a valid driver's license.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to walk throughout the day, stand for extended periods of time, and focus on assigned tasks in a hectic noisy environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Varied work settings include office and community setting. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases. Subject to varying and unpredictable situations. Handles emergency or crisis situations. May be exposed to clients exhibiting assaultive or aggressive behaviors. Generally pleasant working conditions in a clean, well-lighted, and quiet to moderately loud setting. |
