Salary Commensurate With Experience
Posting Summary

Dr. Shishir Chundawat and Dr. Haoran Zhang at the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering (Rutgers University, New Brunswick) are seeking applications from qualified individuals for the position of Postdoctoral Associate (PDA) to work on an ongoing FDA funded project starting Fall/Spring 2020 (or till the position is filled). The focus of this ongoing project is on batch/continuous mammalian cell culture based glycosylated monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) production enabled by real-time bioprocess analytics, modeling, and control strategies. The candidates should ideally have a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or other related disciplines and research experience working with mammalian cells, monoclonal antibodies, and/or protein glycosylation. Some background on mAbs bioproduction using bioreactors, preferably at 1-10 L fermenter-scale, is preferred. Experience with protein/mAbs purification and HPLC/MS based glycosylation analysis is preferred but not required. Candidates with practical experiences in biopharmaceuticals production, mAbs characterization, and bioprocess engineering are highly encouraged to apply.

This project will also involve close collaborations with other researchers at Rutgers University. Position requires independent research, reporting to advisors, meeting with collaborators, supervision of undergraduate and graduate students, and public presentations. PDA will also participate in preparation of grants/fellowships/manuscripts. The candidate should have strong communication skills, work ethic, and competency for working on highly interdisciplinary and time-sensitive project. This is a 1-year appointment that can be renewed based on applicant performance and availability of grant funds. Women and minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.
