There is a postdoc position available in Dr. Alison Bernstein's lab in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute ( EOHSI)/Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, Rutgers University. This position is funded by grants from the National Institute of Environmental Health ( NIEHS) and National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke ( NINDS). Dr. Bernstein's research focuses on the role of epigenetics and the environment in the etiology of sporadic Parkinson's disease.
The candidate will focus on 1-2 of the following projects: (1) epigenetic analysis in a mouse models of Parkinson's disease related exposures, (2) elucidating molecular mechanisms of pesticide-induced changes in DNA methylation in a 3D neurosphere model in vitro, and (3) characterizing mechanisms underlying synaptic deficits in an in vivo two-hit exposure model of Parkinson's disease.

Both Dr. Bernstein's home department and EOHSI are nationally and internationally recognized for their basic and clinical research on pharmacology, toxicology, and exposure science. Dr. Bernstein's research team has access to outstanding facilities of Genomics, Genetics, Proteomics, Confocal and high-content imaging, Histopathology, Analytical Chemistry, Flow Cytometry, etc. Rutgers University provides an excellent career development and training environment for postdoc researchers.
