JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Information Technology Services department of the Applied Research Laboratory is seeking undergraduate students with skills in application development and application support to contribute to our enterprise application development efforts.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing software and database application components

  • Assisting with programming and software development tasks and other duties as assigned

  • End-user support - answering phones/emails

  • Technical writing

Students studying Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Software Engineering are encouraged to apply.

Required skills and experience include:

  • Excellent communication, customer service, technical writing, and organizational skills

  • Experience developing software in at least one programming language (C#, VB.NET, JavaScript, Java, or Groovy preferred)

Preferred skills and experience include:

  • Application development skills such as version control, automated testing, continuous integration, issue tracking, debugging, etc.

  • Experience using Microsoft Windows systems in a domain environment and in using Windows-based Integrated Development Environments

The successful candidate will work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters and 40 hours per week over the summer.
