JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Harrisburg seeks applications for a part-time Box Office/Administrative Assistant to oversee box office operations, assist with administrative and marketing/promotions, and support front-of-house operations at the Mukund S. Kulkarni Theatre. The assistant will report to the Performing Arts Operations Manager.

Job Duties
  • Day-to-day selling of event tickets via computerized ticketing system.
  • Data entry and accounting for ticket sales and records.
  • Answering phone calls and handle customer inquiries.
  • Assist with social media tasks, including creating content.
  • Create and distribute promotional flyers and other materials.
  • Event support and general office duties to facilitate events.
  • Oversee the Arts Ambassadors student usher-social media street team.
  • Deliver excellent customer service.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • The applicant should possess excellent organizational, and data processing skills.
  • Strong written/oral communication skills and telephone etiquette.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently with limited supervision.
  • MS Office, Excel, email platforms (Constant Contact) and social media platforms (Insta, Facebook and LinkedIn) proficiency required.
  • Associates Degree or higher preferred.
  • Affinity for the visual and performing arts.

This opening is a part-time position for approximately 10-20 hours per week, during the fall and spring academic calendar, with possible work during holiday breaks, including the summer months.Applicants must be available to work day shifts Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. and selected evenings and weekends to support performances and events. Some work may be performed remotely when possible.
