As an Electronics Technician for our Cryogenic Group at Jefferson Lab, you will maintain highly complex electrical or electronic equipment, structures, components, or portions of systems and modifying existing designs to develop or improve performance and facilitate operations. Perform maintenance and repair of cryogenic electrical and electronic equipment, instrumentation, and controls within cryogenics operations. Provide technical support for modification and/or installation projects and update "as built" drawings and other documentation.
In this role you will:
- Install, maintain and repair medium and low voltage cryogenic electrical equipment, wiring and conduits, control systems, electric and pneumatic valves
- Update "as built" electrical and mechanical drawings where applicable
- Perform various tasks such as: sensor calibration, wiring repairs, troubleshooting of control systems and electronics, installation of electrical motors
- Responsible for documenting work in operations logbooks, maintenance records, "as built" drawings and any other forms as required by management
- Support operations as a cryogenic coordinator on-call and respond to after-hours operational emergencies
- May bestarting/stopping machinery, performing system monitoring, and receiving gas deliveries.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma
- 5 years relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of proper use of hand and power tools
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, P&I diagrams and machinery manuals.
- Knowledge of safe and proper use of electrical diagnostics equipment such as multimeters, meggers, etc.
- Experience making basic measurements with a multimeter to include but not limited to AC and DC voltages and DC current.
- Some soldering experience with wires and electronic components
