Responsibilities

TRC Companies, Inc., a pioneer in groundbreaking scientific and engineering developments since the 1960's, is a national engineering and environmental consulting firm that provides integrated services to the energy, environmental and infrastructure markets. TRC serves a broad range of clients in industry and government, implementing complex projects from initial concept to delivery and operation.

TRC is seeking highly motivated and diverse Field Services Interns for our DoD SkillBridge program. This is temporary position operating within in the guidelines established under the DoD SkillBridge requirements. Anticipated duration is six months (based on eligibility). This position has the?potential to transition into a Full-Time role upon successful completion of the SkillBridge program. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of experienced TRC Commissioning leads.

Overview:

  • Testing and Commissioning of protective relays for electrical transmission - distribution substations.
  • Works under supervision of Experienced TRC staff to test and verify substation protection - control system functionality.
  • Become familiar with various types of test equipment.
  • Become familiar with testing - commissioning processes and procedures
  • Read and interpret design drawings to understand engineering design and confirm intent.
  • Must have strong electrical fundamental understanding.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Has served at least 180 days on active duty
  • Is within 12 months of separation or retirement.
  • Will receive an honorable discharge
  • Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS
  • Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
  • Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship.
  • Has excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possesses solid technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail orientated person.
  • Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel to client sites.
  • Willing to work overtime and travel out of town weekly.
  • Ability to lift at least 30 lbs.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
