Job Description

Spectrum Healthcare Resources is excited to offer a potential career opportunity for an Inpatient Licensed Clinical Social Worker at the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System. Job Requirements:

    Licensure: Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted LCSW license from any state, territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
  • Education: Minimum of a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from a nationally accredited school.
  • Experience: At least two years of current experience in the field of social work.
  • Credentialing and Privileging: Must undergo credentialing and privileging as per VA standards; services cannot commence until these processes are complete.
  • Medical and Immunization Requirements: Must meet health and immunization requirements, including screenings for tuberculosis, rubella, and vaccinations for influenza, among others.
  • Training: Required training includes:
    • CPR and basic life support (BLS) certifications.
    • Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification for some roles.
    • Mandatory VA-specific training on privacy, security, and various healthcare protocols.

Job Responsibilities for Inpatient LCSW

  • Perform comprehensive assessments of patient social, emotional, and environmental needs.
  • Plan and implement care strategies that address identified needs, especially focusing on the transition from inpatient care.
  • Document all assessments and interventions in the patient's medical record.
  • Coordinate with healthcare teams to provide consistent patient care.
  • Address potential cases of abuse or neglect and consult appropriate services as required.
  • Assist in the coordination of discharge planning to ensure continuity of care post-hospitalization.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support for patients and families in distress.
  • Facilitate family meetings and interdisciplinary discussions about patient care goals.
