Miami, FL is looking for Structural Bridge Design Engineers with at least 4 years of experience in Bridge Design

As a Structural Bridge Design Engineer with Modjeski and Masters, you will work on a variety of challenging and rewarding bridge engineering projects for a myriad of transportation clients. As a member of our team, you'll be immediately responsible for performing engineering tasks under the careful supervision of established and respected professionals. Description

Position Available:



  • Mid-Level Engineer (4+ related years of experience)
  • Senior Project Manager / Roadway Engineer (10+ years of experience)


Requirements



  • A minimum of a BS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
  • MS preferred, in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer or eligible to sit for PE within 6 months


Requirements - Senior Project Manager / Roadway Engineer (10+ years of experience)



  • Registered PE in the State of Florida
  • Minimum of 10 years' FDOT Experience and Highway specific projects experience
  • Experience in pursuing and managing multi-discipline projects, including projects with bridge replacement, new bridge alignment, or bridge rehabilitation.
  • Client Relationships with FDOT District Four and FDOT District Six.
  • Proficient in MicroStation and Bentley Open Road Designer and a familiarity with AASHTO
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a professional sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client needs.
  • A strong work ethic with the ability to mentor junior engineers.
  • Detail oriented with good oral and written communications skills and a fluency in English.


Responsibilities:



  • Design, analysis, and checking of complex bridge structures
  • Perform structural design and detailing of bridge components as a project engineer with limited guidance from Project Managers and/or Senior Engineers.
  • Lead the development of design investigations, various reports, contract plans, project specifications and cost estimates.
  • Participate in the oversight of construction projects (e.g., RFI review/response, shop drawing review, site visits, etc.).
  • Assist Project Managers.
  • Assist with the guidance and supervision of entry-level engineers.
  • Assist with the development of proposals.
  • Review construction specifications and special provisions.
  • Assist in the preparation of construction cost estimates with guidance from project managers and senior level engineers.
  • Work with clients, subconsultants, contractors, fabricators, etc. as directed by Project Managers.
  • Lead the development of design reports.
  • Must have a good command of the English language with good oral and written communication skills. Technical writing proficiency preferred.
  • Ability to delegate to and supervise entry-level engineers.
  • Ability to produce project related internal and external correspondence.
  • Senior Project Manager / Roadway Engineer (10+ years of experience)

    • Provide technical and leadership guidance for transportation engineers,
    • Maintain strong client relationships,
    • Pursue and win projects with FDOT and local agency clients
    • Prepare proposals and marketing presentations
    • Manage multiple projects and project teams within budget and schedule.
