The successful candidate will further engage in one or more of the following areas: the Pacific; indigenous studies, SWANA; policing, carcerality and surveillance; biopolitics; histories, technologies and toxicities of warfare, such as targeting, weapons manufacturing, and critical logistics; the embodied aftermaths of militarized state violence. Applicants should be able to offer and create new lower and upper division undergraduate courses on critical militarisms, the transpacific, indigenous studies, state-sanctioned anti-Asian violence, Filipinx studies, SWANA studies, and/or community engaged social justice projects such as anti-imperial and anti-war organizing, all of which link the domestic and global fronts of war and empire. Applicants must hold the Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant field.

The reference check involves contacting the administration of the applicant's previous institution(s) to ask whether there have been substantiated findings of misconduct that would violate the University's Faculty Code of Conduct. To implement this process, UC Davis requires all applicants for any open search for these faculty positions to complete, sign, and upload the form entitled "Authorization to Release Information" into UC RECRUIT as part of their application. If an applicant does not include the signed authorization with the application materials, the application will be considered incomplete, and as with any incomplete application, will not receive further consideration.
