Job Summary

To serve as the revenue cycle representative and main point of contact for designated practice and/or specialty for business operations and the CBO. To build and maintain collaborative and productive relationships within Palmetto Health USC Medical Group, to manage revenue cycle projects, to drive performance, to provide direction and analytical support to establish and achieve revenue cycle goals and objectives. To review client department performance in a variety of areas, including, but not limited to, scheduling, registration, coding and claims submission and adjudication. To identify opportunities for improvement and procedural enhancement. This is a remote position.

Accountabilities

  • Represents the Professional Billing Office and assigned Practice/Specialty in the role as a subject matter expert for revenue cycle operations related to the designated practice.
  • Provides essential quality reports, and advice and improvement recommendations to physicians, practice administrative staff, and management along all service lines.
  • Understands and communicates complex issues and changes relating to industry revenue cycle and regulatory compliance, third-party reimbursement to the department(s) involved. Maintains records of their notification, accountability and compliance.
  • Performs financial analysis and assessment of diverse data relating to the revenue cycle.
  • Creates operational protocols and uses statistics/metrics to determine overall performance and effectiveness, team performance and error rates, deficits in systems, etc. Communicates those metrics to the Administrative Directors and Practice Managers.
  • Arranges mandatory training with the Revenue Cycle Training and Development Team, certification, and continual quality audits.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and five years related experience.

Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses

  • Valid driver's license, an acceptable three-year motor vehicle record as defined by the Acceptable motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Chart, and a certificate of auto insurance.

In Lieu Of The Minimum Requirements Listed Above

  • Work experience may be substituted for education requirement.

Other Required Sills and Experience

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to positively interact with a variety of hospital personnel, including physicians, front office administrators, as well as with billing management and staff in a fast paced environment. Advanced analytical skills, including data analysis and procedure review.
