Summary:
This position will be responsible for preparing environmental air quality permit applications for existing facilities and new build projects at Energy Transfer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Basic understanding of the various local, state & federal air quality regulations and how they apply to the natural gas midstream, crude oil & finished products transportation, and NGL processing industries.
  • Basic understanding of various state air regulations including Texas and Louisiana. Basic permitting knowledge of northeastern US states like Pennsylvania, Ohio and New York is a plus.
  • The position will be responsible for permit application preparation for various projects.
  • Must have the ability to gather data, prepare emission calculations, and assess various control technologies.
  • The candidate needs to be familiar with reviewing and analyzing local, state, & federal laws and regulations as needed.
  • Must have the ability to work under normal supervision and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good verbal & written communication skills.
  • Able to coordinate several projects with various operational groups or districts.
  • Must have the ability to work with other groups or departments and with various consulting firms.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental or applied sciences or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
  • A basic understanding of Permit-by-Rule (PBR) and Standard Permit registrations in Texas would be preferable.
  • The ideal candidate would also possess basic knowledge of New Source Review and Title V Permitting.
  • 0-5 years of experience in air quality permitting.
  • Must have experience with Word, Excel, and Outlook. Specialized software like TanksESP, GRI GlyCalc, and/or other simulation software would be preferred.



Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:



  • The Engineer level requires a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 3-6 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Senior Engineer level requires a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 6-10 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Staff Engineer level requires Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 10+ years of relevant job related experience
  • The Principal Engineer level requires Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 12+ years of relevant job related experience with a strong preference for a PE license


Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Normal office working conditions and field work
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment will occur.
