What You'll Do

Essential job responsibilitiesinclude but are not limited to:



  • Supports and demonstrates IMA's core values
  • Values and understands the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion among all IMA associates
  • Prospects, qualifies,and closesnew commercial accounts which meet IMA criteria
  • Identifiesa target industry and/or market segment to focus network building, prospecting,and development ofspecializedknowledge andexpertiseon common coverage situations, industry trends,and upcoming developments in commercial insuranceimpactingtarget clients
  • Conductsneeds review duringinitialandsubsequentqualifying interviews with prospects
  • Identifiesand engagesasappropriate internalresources for prospects qualified through needs review, coordinatesresources, and leadsstrategy meetings todeterminethe best approach for new account acquisition
  • Takesfull ownership of the execution of the final proposal presentation,including preparation of proposal material, coordinating participation of various IMA team members, leading the actual presentation effort,and closing the sale
  • Proactivelyidentifiesand coordinatescross selling opportunities with other sales units at IMA
  • Entersandmaintainsall required information in Salesforce CRM
  • In partnership with an Account Servicing team,maintainsclient contactsto assure account retention



You Should Have

Required Experience and Skillsinclude but are not limited to:



  • 5+ years of direct business to business selling highly preferred
  • Track recordof exceeding sales expectationsdemonstratedthrough documentation, recognition, or through specific examples shared during the interview process
  • Experience in Commercial Insurance preferred but notrequired, with preference given toexpertisein both Commercial Property & Casualty and Group Benefits experience
  • Bachelor'sdegree preferred
  • Must either currently hold, or within90 daysof hireattain, Property & Casualty, and Life & Health licenses for theappropriate stateof business and fulfill continuing education requirements toretainlicensing
  • Basic experience with MS Office products, specifically PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excelrequired, intermediate aptitude preferred
