Join Our Team as a Maintenance Mechanic at the Medical College of Wisconsin!

Position: Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Milwaukee, WI

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of equipment and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair minor system malfunctions independently.
  • Train junior mechanics in inspection procedures.
  • Perform repairs and replacements on various systems, including fan and pump motors, plumbing fixtures, pneumatic controllers, and refrigeration devices.
  • Execute small projects such as installing air and vacuum system piping and repairing plumbing systems.
  • Diagnose and correct equipment malfunctions.
  • Complete preventive maintenance (PM) on equipment.
  • Safely shutdown heating and cooling systems for maintenance or repair.
  • Utilize skills such as brazing, soldering, pipe cutting and threading, and various hand and power tools.
  • Repair and overhaul pumps and heat exchangers.

Position Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a facilities maintenance mechanic role, preferably in healthcare or educational institutions.
    • Proficiency in troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
    • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
