About the job:
To be successful in this role, you must have minimum of 3 years of experience in a Quality Assurance/Quality Control role in Flavor, Fragrance or Pharma (preferably citrus). Management and supervision of the lab testing designed for citrus materials based on individual product specifications from initial material inspection to finished product approvals. Successful background of presenting analytical findings in a clear, concise, and easily understood manner to management.
In this role, titled as the QC Junior Analytical - Citrus you will be responsible for:
- Maintain daily operations of all analytical equipment to include upkeep and development of methods pertaining to Gas Chromatographs, Mass Spectrometer, standard lab instruments and titration setups.
- Must operate and maintain sophisticated analytical instruments (GCs, GCMS) including the scheduling of preventative maintenance to ensure 24/7 trouble-free operation.
- Maintain and develop methods required to meet the demands of the citrus industry.
- Management and supervision of the lab testing designed for citrus materials based on individual product specifications from initial material inspection to finished product approvals.
- Provide analytical evaluation of citrus materials (RMs to FPs), making pass/fail decisions.
- Generate analytical documentation to support the "make risk analysis and usage decisions" for product non-conformances.
- Actively and accurately provide analytical feedback to colleagues, open to discussion & proactively recommend process improvements.
- Perform chemical, physical, and organoleptic analysis of citrus materials according to SOPs.
- Use Oracle and Microsoft Excel for the input and retrieval of data for all samples tested.
- Provide technical assistance as needed for internal and external customers.
- All testing to be conducted in a manner consistent with regulatory guidelines set for each material with regards to its safety, quality, and legality of manufacturing.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, science or a related field.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, fluent in English (additional languages preferred).
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
- Ability to strategize, analyze and solve complex, multi-layered problems.
- Strong knowledge base of math and science using Microsoft Excel and Access.
