Associate Lecturer (PT), Graphic Design Program

The Graphic Design program at Curry College is actively seeking to expand our adjunct faculty pool. We are in search of talented individuals who possess a high level of proficiency in various aspects of graphic design, including the Adobe Creative Suite, Typography, HTML, CSS for Web Design, Motion Graphics, Wacom Tablets, and large format printers.

As an adjunct faculty member, you will play a crucial role in enriching the learning experience of our students and contributing to the overall growth of the Graphic Design program. Your expertise and passion for design will be instrumental in inspiring and guiding aspiring designers as they develop their skills and creativity.

Responsibilities:
  • Delivering engaging and effective instructional sessions that cover essential topics in graphic design, including Adobe Creative Suite applications, Typography, Design Principles, Web Design using HTML and CSS, Motion Graphics, and utilizing Wacom Tablets and large format printers;
  • Facilitating hands-on practical exercises and projects to help students apply theoretical concepts and acquire real-world design experience;
  • Providing constructive feedback and guidance on students' work to foster their artistic development and proficiency;
  • Contributing to the ongoing curriculum development and enhancement of the Graphic Design program, incorporating industry trends and best practices to ensure relevance and competitiveness;
  • Collaborating with fellow faculty members to exchange ideas and collectively enhance the learning environment;
  • Staying up-to-date with advancements in graphic design tools, technologies, and industry standards to continuously improve your own expertise and share relevant knowledge with students.


Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • MFA, Visual Communication, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in utilizing the Adobe Creative Suite, Typography, Design Principles, HTML, CSS for Web Design, Motion Graphics, Wacom Tablets, and large format printers.
  • Prior teaching experience at the college level.
  • Prior experience working with Canvas
  • A passion for mentoring and guiding emerging designers, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility in adapting teaching methodologies to cater to diverse learning styles and levels of proficiency among students.
  • Dedication to promoting creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills within the design discipline.
