Job Summary
The Assistant Technician, under direct supervision, using Standard Work Practices, cleans, disinfects and restocks ambulances. Issues vital equipment to crews. Assists with inventory and restocking of Paramedic Division central stockroom. May occasionally drive ambulances in non-emergency mode to repair facilities or fuel pumps to refuel them and drive to other facilities to retrieve equipment. Works as part of a team to prepare ambulances for service in the field.
Essential Functions:
- Clean, restock to standard levels, and seal, all kits and equipment. Scan /issue this equipment to crews starting their shifts. Scan/collect all issued equipment from crews finishing their shifts. Report any broken / missing equipment. Calibrate equipment, check and remove soon to expire (40%)
- medications from service. Prepare non-reusable equipment for service by pre-counting quantities and master-bagging to eliminate overstocking and increase inventory turns. (35%)
- Cleans Ambulances and other Paramedic Fleet Vehicles. Restocks all equipment to proper stock levels. Removes and reports any unserviceable equipment. Checks and refills vital fluids. Check safety lights and equipment for proper operation. (0%)
- Performs general upkeep of the garages and stockrooms, keeping them clean and well organized. (15%)
- Schedules vehicles for service. Updates Schedule Computer and notifies Dispatch Center. Removes vehicles in need of service and communicates vehicle service needs with Service Facility and Fleet Captain. Makes new vehicle assignments to crews with broken vehicles. Occasionally delivers vehicles to crews with broken vehicles in the field or takes vehicles to or from vehicle service center. (5%)
- Drives to various locations to deliver and pick-up supplies and equipment. (5%)
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Work Experience:
- Previous experience might include -- fast paced customer service, vehicle detailing, or warehouse and stockroom inventory experience.
Licenses:
- DLR-Colorado Driver's License Class R - DMV - Department of Motor Vehicles required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Knowledge of personal protective equipment and how to follow appropriate safety precautions at all times. Ability to follow written Standard Work and additional oral instructions.
- Ability to multi-task and interact with customers while continuing to stay on task with other duties.
- Able to problem solve as situations arise. Detail oriented and able to handle repetition and standard work routines.
Shift Work Type PRN/Intermittent
Salary $20.00 - $27.00 / hr
