Construction Materials Project Manager Requisition Number: 2024-1580-08A S&ME is looking for an experienced Project Manager specializing in Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and Special Inspection (SI) projects to join our vibrant team in Greensboro, North Carolina. About The Role: As a Construction Materials Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing materials testing and special inspection projects, ensuring the highest level of quality and compliance with industry standards. You will work closely with clients, project teams, and laboratory staff to deliver successful projects while upholding our commitment to excellence. Project Leadership: Lead and manage Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspections projects of varying scales, overseeing every phase, including budget allocations, scheduling, and resource allocation. Client Collaboration: Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements and ensure their satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. Team Supervision and Mentorship: Supervise and mentor a team of professionals and field-based staff in client development and project management, providing guidance and training as needed. Client Base Development: Develop and maintain a local client base and professional network capable of generating sufficient revenue to meet financial objectives. Business Development Coordination: Support local business development and marketing efforts to expand market presence and opportunities. Cost Estimation and Proposal Management: Generate and review field and laboratory cost estimates and proposals in alignment with project plans, International Building Code (IBC) requirements, and client requests for proposals. About You: You have a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field You have 4+ years' experience with Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspection projects with at least 1 year of project management experience you have a Professional Engineer(PE) license in North Carolina, or the ability to obtain licensure in North Carolina within 6 months of the hire date You have a strong working knowledge of applicable ACI, ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT standards and procedures, and IBC Special Inspections. You have effective verbal and written communication skills, including attention to detail. Should be able to develop and facilitate accurate technical materials.
