The opportunity

Southern New Hampshire University is currently seeking a student employee to fill the role of Penmen Productions Broadcaster for our Campus location. Penmen Productions is the Southern New Hampshire University Athletics' video entity. In collaboration with the Department of Athletic Communications, Penmen Productions oversees video streaming, video features, video replay and manages relationships with local and national television providers. The department is most notably known for its production of live online video streaming, video features and live game broadcasts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serving as play-by-play or color analyst on live broadcasts. As one of the voices of Penmen Athletics, it is expected you will do research and be well-versed in the rules of the sport, the history of the team, the student-athletes playing in the game and anything else that is notable.
  • Serving as public address announcer for live athletic events. As the in-venue announcer, you are responsible for pre-game announcements, such as starting lineup introductions, in-game announcements, such as goal scorers and marketing promotions, and post-game announcements, such as the final score and the next home game.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Enrollment in an Undergraduate or Graduate Day program at SNHU
  • A basic knowledge of sports
  • The ability to talk in front of people

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous broadcast experience preferred, but not required
  • Willingness to learn
  • Night & weekend availability is required

Work Hours:

Games, as scheduled. Office hours, as needed. Total number of hours per week not to exceed 20 hours per week.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
