Responsibilities

SCREENING OF APPLICANTS BEGINS IMMEDIATELY AND CONTINUES UNTIL POSITION IS FILLED

The Clinical Manager is responsible for: The entire workflow of the step-down process. They are responsible for meeting with every eligible patient to discuss PHP/IOP services, programming options and potential start-dates. This engagement should begin within 24-36 hours of inpatient admission. The Clinical Manager will have a clear understanding of the levels of service and tracks available in the Outpatient Program. They will also understand the inpatient workflow process as it pertains to case management and discharge planning.
In addition, the Clinical Manager will work closely with those departments that participate in the eligibility verification process (Social Services, Business Office, Utilization Review and Outpatient Departments) to confirm the patient's ability to transition to PHP/IOP programming after inpatient discharge. The Clinical Manager will also solicit the services of the respective department(s) to resolve any issues identified prior to inpatient discharge.
The Clinical Manager will routinely collect data-points specific to the step-down process, including: Eligibility, Referrals, Refusals, Reason for Refusal, Reason for Ineligibility and Attended. This data will be routinely entered into Midas (daily). It will be the responsibility of the Clinical Manager to review reports run out of Midas in an effort to identify trends from the data collected. The Clinical Manager will document Step-down information into MS4 and Midas. These trends will be used to identify opportunities to increase step-down referrals and should be reported on weekly. These tasks will be completed in addition to unit therapist responsibilities as described below. The therapist role is designed to provide individual, group and family therapy to clients within the outpatient settings. Additionally, therapists have the primary responsibility for treatment planning and when necessary they will interface with community agencies and referral sources throughout the client's course of treatment. If the Clinical Manager will also assist unlicensed therapists in problem solving and decision making processes for imminent and/or challenging situations; provide clinical supervision (if training completed), assisting with program development, evaluation, and program improvement. The Clinical Manager will assist the Director of Outpatient Services in the facilitation of therapist meetings, and assigning caseloads. Clinical Manager must be within 6-months of obtaining full licensure(LPCC/MSW) or be fully licensed (LPC/LCSW).

Qualifications

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
* Frequently stands, walks, kneels, reaches while working with patients.
* Requires full range of body motion including handling and physical restraint of patients.
* Ability to perform CPR and first aid. Ability to drive a vehicle if necessary.
* Ability to work rotating shifts, and be flexible in own hours.
* Must be able to speak, read and write clearly, and organize multiple tasks at one time.
* Ability to visually supervise patients & hear requests for assistance from patients/residents and staff. Able to problem solve situations under stressful situations.
* Emotional stability necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.
* Vision and hearing sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
SKILLS:
Requires strong organizational and communication skills, working knowledge of personal computer, ability to maintain confidentiality. Able to complete required paperwork according to established protocol and regulatory agency requirements. Must be able to maintain professional and appropriate boundaries with clients and families. Ability to act professionally in high stress situations.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
Masters degree in Counseling or Social Work with provisional clinical licensure (i.e., LPCC, CSW) that is within six months of obtaining full clinical licensure. Full clinical licensure (i.e. LPC, LCSW) preferred. Experience providing clinincial and administrative supervision preferred. Experience working with military members preferred.
STAFF DEVELOPMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Must meet or exceed hospital and regulatory agency training requirements.
