SERVICE CENTER COORDINATOR

MARYSVILLE SERVICE CENTER

Job Description

Regular Full-time; Non-Exempt Position

$25-27 per hour(DOE)

FUNCTION: Provides overall supervision and oversight of the Marysville Assistance Center. This center functions in collaboration with a local committee. Services range from providing meals, financial assistance, sending children to summer camp, supporting those in need with basic needs, back-to-school assistance, and Christmas assistance.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  1. Model an open, client-centered, compassionate, non-judgmental approach
  2. Set boundaries and adhere to eligibility and other program guidelines
  3. Meet and follow all Salvation Army policies & program requirements
  4. Balance and manage multiple tasks and priorities
  5. Respond to crisis situations in a calm, positive manner
  6. Complete tasks, projects, and daily requests in a timely manner
  7. Provide effective oral, written, and electronic communication
  8. Provide oversite of daily activities and day-to-day operations of the center
  9. Attend agency and staff meetings as determined by the supervisor
  10. Banking / Billing- Make deposits daily as needed, as well as process and code vouchers for payment
  11. Budget, track, and provide financial stewardship for all Salvation Army funds and donations
  12. Seek and/or apply for new funding opportunities to grow the center.
  13. Record, report, and manage all-in-kind donations
  14. Meet goals and outcomes set by the program and supervisor
  15. Social Services

    • Interview and asses' clients' needs while keeping good records of services provided
    • Provide referrals to both internal and external resources as necessary
    • Answer and respond to client assistance phone calls, e-mails, and faxes within 24-48 hours and respond to drop-in visits as needed
    • Maintain client records, accurate data entry, and produced reports as required by supervisor, agency policy, and funding sources


  16. Volunteer Management

    • Increase and leverage volunteerism in Marysville
    • Provide effective leadership and training to volunteers


  17. Community Collaboration & Outreach

    • Promote agency programs through community meetings, events, and presentations to community organizations or through other public relations activities
    • Coordinate and support a monthly Committee meeting


  18. Programs

    • Coordinate, recruit, and grow the center programs which include but are not limited to Christmas Distribution, Kettles, Summer Camp, and Back to School programs


  19. Emergency Preparedness- facilitate and coordinate planning center preparedness and training
  20. Perform other work-related duties associated with the general responsibilities of the center and/or as assigned by the supervisor



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
  • Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects such as files and file cabinet drawers and reach overhead
  • Ability to climb stairs
  • Ability to operate a telephone, desktop, or laptop computer
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to access and produce information from a computer
  • Ability to understand written information
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be able to pass a WA MVR check and TSA driving courses.
  • Must have a Drivers License



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High School diploma.
  • Five years of social service experience is preferred; three years is acceptable.



SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ATTRIBUTES:



  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
  • Add driving requirements
  • The following equipment may be used: telephone, computer equipment, fax/copy machine, and audiovisual equipment.



WORKING CONDITIONS:



  • On-site, Monday through Friday, except for meetings and errands
  • Will need to travel within the local area as needed, but most work is in an office environment with frequent interruptions, multiple deadlines, and competing priorities.
  • Will need to have work schedule flexibility and the ability to work overtime with prior approval during peak periods occasionally.

The Salvation Army does have a dress code. This will be shared with you at the time of employment.

Life and Voluntary Options: An employer-paid life insurance policy covers employees. Voluntary supplemental life, short-term and long-term disability plans are available.

Retirement Plans: Employer-funded Money Purchase Pension Plan (Defined Contribution Plan) 50% vested at five years eligible service time. Plus, an employee-funded voluntary 403(b) option.

Parental Leave: The benefit is 40 hours of Paid Leave for qualifying events.

Sick Leave: 12 days of Sick Leave annually accruing from day one, eligible for use after three months' service time.

Paid Vacation:

Two weeks annually, accruing from day one, for non-exempt positions.
Four weeks annually, accruing from day one, for exempt positions.
Accrued vacation is eligible for use after six months' service time.

Paid Holidays: 13 designated holidays + 1 floating holiday per year
