Description

* Interfaces closely with engineering and new product development teams, to define, develop and implement test plans/strategies. Collaborates to define which electrical parameters need testing, develops the design of the test sets and supervises the building of test sets used in manufacturing and service centers.

* Responsible for the software interface at all in-process and final test configurations. Assists engineering with software issues with equipment and test sets.

* Leads the development of new test procedures and processes in collaboration with other engineering teams on the development of test standards.

* Responsible for driving testing from concept through product launch. Keeps all test plans up to date and complete throughout the development projects.

* Drives testing consistency in both procedures and physical equipment resulting in high quality data.

* Interfaces closely with engineering and product teams to address product design and process quality issues as well as to identify and implement potential enhancements to existing test systems/procedures.

* Analyzes test data to identify key failures, trends, and/or critical performance factors of design prototypes. Provides detailed documentation in the form of test reports in a timely manner. Communicates test status updates for all responsible projects to stakeholders.

* Resolves complex engineering issues, and leads improvement initiatives associated with testing by collaborating with development teams.

* Provide direction and input into industry standards and standard development committees for specific product categories.

* Mentors and provides daily guidance to technicians.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

What you will need to succeed:

Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering or equivalent.

Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 5 years' experience in test engineering or electronics in a manufacturing environment which experience in computer based testing and programming.

* Advanced level knowledge of and skills in software system architecture design; embedded systems programming fundamentals and techniques; embedded real-time operating systems; a variety of microprocessors and micro-controllers; user-interface design, graphics processing, DSP programming; software and hardware development tools;

* Advanced level knowledge of and experience in C/C++ and other programming languages as required by the location and business unit supported. Strong systems coding experience.

* Skills and experience in designing and implementing a computer based functional test.

* Establishment and use of a source code control system.

* Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels throughout the organization and external vendors, strong customer service orientation, excellent problem solving skills and the ability to drive for results.

* Experience with inter-process communication, multi-tasking and multi-threading.

* Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and other electronics documentation.

* Ability to manage multiple projects through from conception to completion.

* Strong leadership/interpersonal skills.

* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

* Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

* Ability to work effectively with mathematical concepts to practical situations.
