Position Summary:

The Financial Analyst is responsible for tracking financial performance of operations expense, forecasting, and variance analysis. Assists and supports short and long-term Maintenance Capital and O&M expense planning activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Perform detailed variance analysis of actual financial results versus plan, forecast, and key performance metrics
  • Identify trends in variances and make recommendations for financial improvement and optimization to management
  • Work closely with accounting and field to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Coordinate with field analysts, operations management, and project managers to accurately budget and forecast projects and expense
  • Appropriately categorize projects as Growth, Maintenance, or Expense in accordance with Energy Transfer's corporate capitalization guidelines
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual performance management reporting of Maintenance Capital for executives, Board of Directors, and investor groups
  • Support the company-wide annual planning process and subsequent monthly forecasting process
  • Increase productivity and efficiency by developing automated reports and processes using Power BI and Alteryx
  • Provide support for earnings releases, 10-K, 10-Q, and other external financial reporting
  • Contribute to overall Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis team goals as needed.



Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:



  • Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, or business
  • Analyst - 3-5 years; Sr Analyst - 5-8 years of related work experience
  • Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Must be highly proficient with Excel, Pivot Tables and interpreting large data sets
  • Highly organized with the ability to perform multiple tasks
  • Self-starter with ability to learn quickly
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • IBM Cognos TM1, SAP S/4 Hana, Power BI skills encouraged


Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.



  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
