Summary:

The Risk Analyst supports various trade desks at Energy Transfer by performing business analytics and measuring exposure to commodity prices. There is opportunity to Interact with traders and senior management- assuring that pricing, hedging, and risk evaluation techniques are applied and monitored.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Monitor, measure, and report market price risks on a daily basis relating to price-exposure from company assets and long-term contracts, wholesale physical energy transactions, inventory, and financial derivatives
  • Determine market-price risk positions and work with trade desks to minimize exposure
  • Validate end-of-day curves in the risk system and mark-to-market of forward positions
  • Analyze and identify P&L and position drivers of various trading books encompassing a wide array of energy commodities and financial instruments
  • Identifies and resolves issues on daily position and P&L reporting
  • Communicate and resolve risk limit breaches appropriately
  • Support requests from internal and external auditors
  • Maintain margin requirements with clearing banks
  • Work closely with I.T. on risk system (ETRM) improvements and testing new enhancements
  • Ensure exchange (ICE & CME) and regulatory (CFTC & FERC) compliance


Requirements:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:



  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, mathematics, accounting or related field
  • 2-5 years of related experience
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills


Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:



  • The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Lead Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job related experience


    Preferred Qualifications:


    • Self-starter with ability to work with limited supervision
    • Strong interpersonal communication ability



    Working Conditions:
    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

    • Usually, normal office working conditions.
    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
    • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
    • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
