Job Summary:



The Instructor position will develop and teach the Clinical Science Graduate Program's Ethics and Responsible Conduct of Research in Humans (CLSC 7150) graduate course starting in Fall 2024 to Masters and PhD level students. This course provides an overview of the field of ethics and responsible conduct in clinical and translational research in humans. Topics to be included are COMIRB and IRB requirements, informed consent/assent, historical background, regulatory requirements of human research for devices and therapeutics, human subjects protection, and good clinical practice. The course prepares new investigators who will be conducting research involving human subjects. This course must meet the NIH requirements for investigators. Seminars/classes need to involve hands-on experiences to support learning and developing approaches to address conducting ethical human subjects' research in an optimal manner.



Work Location:



Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of on-site (Anschutz) and in-person and Zoom classes

Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.



  • Graduate degree in clinical science
  • More than 3 years of experience conducting clinical and translational research in humans
  • Previous teaching experience


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Completion of ethics and responsible conduct of research coursework
  • Familiarity/previous experience conducting research with industry
  • Familiarity/previous experience conducting research with multiple sites, PIs, and IRBs
  • Familiarity/previous experience conducting clinical and translational research using a range of approaches and study designs


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Familiarity with Canvas
  • Superior communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge and abilities to teach the NIH requirements for ethics and responsible conduct of research in humans for investigators

Anticipated Pay Range:



The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:$

$3,800 for single instructor teaching course of 1 credit.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
