Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our CVSICU team. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Schedule:




  • 50/50 Day/Off Shifts
  • Including weekends, nights, and holidays



Responsibilities:




  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill patients in the CVSICU.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, and evaluate patient responses to interventions.
  • Perform invasive procedures, including but not limited to central line placement, arterial line placement, and chest tube insertion.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding their condition, treatment options, and discharge planning.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects to enhance patient care and outcomes in the CVSICU.



Requirements:




  • Current licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Maryland.
  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant (NCCPA).
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in critical care, preferably in a cardiovascular surgical intensive care unit.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make autonomous decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Salary Range: Minimum 53.15 per hour - Maximum 82.38 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
