The Division of Infectious Disease has an opening for a full-time Transplant Infectious Disease Physician/ Open Rank Professor.

Nature of Work:

The Division of Infectious Diseases is recruiting faculty members at the University of Colorado School of Medicine (Anschutz Medical Campus) who will have primary duties in clinical infectious diseases with specific focus on transplant infectious diseases (TID). Responsibilities encompass inpatient and outpatient clinical consultative services, participation in education and mentoring, and research and scholarship in the field.

Applicants for these positions must have completed an accredited Infectious Diseases fellowship and be ABIM board eligible or board certified in Infectious Diseases, and must have completed formal TID training or TID fellowship or have equivalent work experience. Applicants should have demonstrated aptitude for scholarly achievement. Experience/potential in basic, translational or clinical research is desirable.

Examples of Work Performed - Duties and Responsibilities:



  1. Infectious Disease Clinical Attending, inpatient and outpatient
  2. Engage in teaching and mentoring of trainees and other faculty
  3. Publish scholarly work and seek grant funding


Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $166,000 to $190,000 for the Assistant Professor role and $200,000 to $270,000 for Associate Professor.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Assistant Professor (Depending on present academic rank and years in service):



  • MD or MD-PhD degree
  • Completion of ID fellowship at accredited program


Associate Professor (Depending on present academic rank and years in service):



  • MD or MD-PhD degree
  • Completion of ID fellowship at accredited program


Preferred Qualifications:

Assistant Professor:



  • Completion of a TID fellowship
  • Demonstrated publication record
  • Existing extramural funding or strong potential for it


Associate Professor:



  • Completion of a TID fellowship
  • Demonstrated publication record
  • Existing extramural funding or strong potential for it


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilites:



  • ID and TID clinical practice
  • Collegiality
  • Ability to liaison well with organ and bone marrow transplantation services
  • Teaching and mentoring skills
  • Interest and aptitude for scholarly work in TID
