The Department of Pediatrics Section of Genetics and Metabolism has openings for full-time faculty to carry out independent laboratory research in genetics and genomics. Appointment in the Human Medical Genetics and Genomics Ph.D. Training Program is also available to appropriately qualified candidates. This position could include clinical activities, if appropriate for the successful applicant.

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:



  • Strengths in gene and genome regulation.
  • Genomics and application of informatics to genomic data.
  • Personalized/precision medicine, development of novel therapies including nucleic acid replacement or correction technologies.
  • Development of cell-based models appropriate to high through-put drug screening.

Salary & Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at:



  • Assistant Professor $85,000 to $150,000
  • Associate Professor $105,000 to $180,000


The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Assistant Professor



  • M.D. and/or Ph.D. - Genetics, Developmental Biology, Molecular Biology, or related degree.
  • Minimum of four years of laboratory research experience in genetics or a related field.
  • Meets qualifications for appointment as Assistant Professor.


Associate Professor



  • M.D. and/or Ph.D. - Genetics, Developmental Biology, Molecular Biology, or related degree.
  • Six or more years of laboratory research experience in genetics or a related field.
  • Examples of scholarship
  • Meets qualifications for appointment as Associate Professor.


Conditions of Employment:



  • Must successfully pass a 10-panel drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal and sex-offender background check


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in one of the broad target areas described above is valuable, but not required.
