Overview

LifeLong Medical Care is searching for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Associate Social Worker (ASW), or Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) to join the team at our Elmhurst Health Center. Under the general supervision of the Associate Medical Director and Psychosocial Services Manager, the LCSW/LMFT/LPCC or ASW/AMFT will work with an inter-disciplinary team to ensure that quality psychosocial services are delivered to health center patients.

We provide medical, dental, behavioral health, and school-based services at more than 15 primary care sites across Oakland, Berkeley, and West Contra Costa County. Benefits:

We offer a competitive annual salary of $68,000-$72,000 for ASW/AMFT, $100,000-$120,000 for LCSW/LMFT/LPCC, depending on years since licensed, $5,000 sign-on bonus and excellent benefits: medical, dental, vision, Flexible Spending Accounts, dependent and domestic partner coverage, 403(b) retirement savings plan, and loan repayment programs. LifeLong is a qualified site for federal and state loan repayment programs (HPSA score is 16). Acceptance rates may vary year to year based on funding levels and the number of applicants.

Responsibilities

The School-Based Health Center - Associate Clinical Social Worker will work collaboratively with the SBHC Behavioral Health staff and leadership team to provide effective mental health services to meet the needs of students and families at Elmhurst middle school community. This is a dynamic and flexible position that will have a caseload made up from a variety of referral sources providing services all year round.

Clinical Responsibilities:

    Provide individual and group therapy both in-person and via telehealth for elementary, middle, and high school students, using appropriate modalities.
  • As needed, provide case management services for students and families participating in treatment.
  • Maintains active caseload and productivity standards.
  • Effectively engage with students and school communities (Ex: Attend back-to-school night, student clubs, COST meetings, IEP meetings, Culture and Climate, etc.)
  • Engage in and support integrative model of care with SBHC medical and dental providers.
  • Attend individual and group supervision towards LCSW.
  • Participate in weekly LifeLong Medical Care SBHC clinic and/or staff meetings.


Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited university.
  • Hold a current and active ASW license with California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
  • Demonstrate commitment, ability and sensitivity to working with a variety of staff, students, and families.
  • Effectively communicate and consult with interdisciplinary team members.
  • Knowledge and experience with individual and group modalities, including crisis intervention, staff education, and training.
  • Strong Knowledge base in mental health and psychosocial issues particular to clinic's client population.
  • Demonstrated skills in assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders.
  • Strong organizational, administrative and problem-solving skills, and ability to be flexible and adaptive to change.
  • Seek supervision when crises and sensitive issues arise, yet work independently with day to day tasks using professional judgment.
  • Be creative and mature with a "can do", proactive attitude and an ability to continuously "scan" the environment, identifying and taking advantage of opportunities for improvement.

Job Requirements

  • Current and valid California LCSW, LMFT, LPCC license, or ACSW or AMFT registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
  • Knowledge and experience providing mental health services to disadvantaged populations.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based practices for the treatment of depression and other mental disorders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office.

Job Preferences

  • Supervisory experience a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish speaking.
  • Epic and or medical software systems knowledge.
  • Experience in a publicly funded mental health program, community health center, and/or social service agency serving the clinic's particular client population preferred.
  • Spanish Speaker preferred, but not required
  • Arabic Speaker preferred, but not required
