The lab uses cell/tissue culture systems, molecular analysis, and humanized mouse models to study HIV infection and test novel strategies to cure the infection. The Junior specialist will work with the PI and other lab members to advance ongoing HIV cure research projects. This will include learning and performing mouse surgeries to create humanized mice, performing HIV infections and other mouse procedures as needed, and conducting tissue culture experiments. Specific assays to be performed will include flow cytometry, PCR, molecular cloning, and plasmid transfections. The individual will also assist with general lab maintenance.
