The Department of Neuroscience at West Virginia University, an R1 institution, is seeking an Assistant Professor, tenure track, individual conducting state-of-the-art neuroscience research who has demonstrated an exceptional record of research accomplishment in foundational neuroscience and who can also excel in our education mission. We are especially interested in individuals whose research interests build on current or emerging strengths in mammalian animal models of neural circuits/epilepsy as part of a recently awarded Track 1 NSF project (https://www.nsf.gov/awardsearch/showAward?AWD_ID=2242771&HistoricalAwards=false). Modern research facilities and cores are available to support investigators' pursuits.



Qualifications

Candidates must hold a PhD, MD, or equivalent degree in neuroscience or a closely related field and at least 3 years of postdoctoral experience with a strong record of scholarly activity. Candidates for appointments as Assistant Professors must demonstrate a strong ability to obtain external funding. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
