Sales Development Representative - Education Technology Group

Location: Dallas, TX (On-site / Central Dallas Office; up to 30% travel)

Job Type: Full-Time Contract (Contract-to-Hire potential; 40 hours/week)

Primary Alignment: Field Business Development Team

About the Team & Opportunity

Our Education Technology Group bridges the gap between industry-leading STEM learning tools-from advanced graphing calculators to classroom STEM technology-and educators across North America.

Due to exciting market expansion-including inclusion on major state-level standardized exams opening up territory across 13 additional states-we are building a brand-new internal Sales Development Representative (SDR) team. Operating directly out of our central Dallas facility alongside our EdTech product development and marketing teams, you will partner closely with 4 to 6 field-based Educational Technology Consultants to drive demand and qualify high-impact opportunities.

We are a collaborative, tight-knit, and self-directed group that leans on each other to succeed. If you bring high energy, curiosity, and a customer-first mindset, this contract opportunity offers a clear runway to learn the EdTech industry and explore long-term conversion potential within a premier global technology company.

What You'll Do

  • Lead Qualification & Inbound Follow-Up: Scrub, qualify, and action high-volume leads generated from national campaigns, district initiatives, and flagship events like Math Week.
  • High-Impact Outbound Prospecting: Identify and prospect key education stakeholders-including classroom teachers, department chairs, and district/state math supervisors-via telephone, email, and social outreach
  • Educational Presentations: Conduct live virtual demonstrations and product overviews (with occasional in-person sessions) to showcase math and science learning tools to educators.
  • Field Support & Event Attendance (Up to 30% Travel): Represent our organization in the field for 1- to 2-day trips attending state math conferences, Math Supervisor events, and regional EdTech summits
  • Pipeline Management: Track and maintain pipeline accuracy and customer touchpoints across enterprise CRM systems (transitioning between Oracle CX Sales and Microsoft Dynamics 365).
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with field business development consultants, marketing teams, and content experts to refine regional target messaging and capitalize on state test adoption cycles.

Who You Are

  • Proven Sales or Educational Background: 2+ years of successful experience in sales, outbound prospecting, lead generation, or customer-facing roles. Former classroom teachers, STEM educators, or EdTech professionals transitioning into sales are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Natural Communicator: Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills. You can simplify complex technological and curriculum tools into tangible classroom benefits.
  • Target-Driven & Coachable: A self-starter who brings a positive, "how-can-I-help" attitude, adapts well to evolving tools, and excels in a goal-oriented sales environment.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with standard productivity tools (Microsoft Office/Google Workspace) and CRM workflows (Dynamics 365, Salesforce, or Oracle CX experience is helpful, but not required-we will train).
  • Education Credential: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, STEM, Education, or a related field preferred.

Additional Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Office Presence: Based on-site at our central Dallas office to collaborate directly with EdTech leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Field Travel: Flexibility to travel up to 30% (predominantly 1- to 2-day domestic trips for educational conferences and customer summits).
  • Campus & School Access: Because this role involves occasional visits and presentations inside K-12 school environments, candidates must successfully pass standard pre-employment drug screening and comprehensive background checks required for campus badging.

Note: This is a full-time onsite role in Dallas. This will start out as contract, but there is potential to get converted to a FTE after 6 months. Pay is $32-38 / hr. with potential sales bonus.
