Responsibilities

Position Summary:

As a FRCS Systems Administrator, you will provide on-site system administration and cybersecurity lifecycle management support in support of the US Army Garrison Fort Drum Directorate of Public Works (DPW). You will operate, secure, and troubleshoot Fort Drum's existing Facility-Related Control Systems Management Infrastructure enclave - on-premises hosts, virtualization/backup platform, and SCADA and Enterprise Integration virtual machines supporting Siemens and Trane building control systems - ensuring continuous RMF compliance, up-to-date patching, and system availability. This role is ideal for a hands-on systems administrator or security engineer with Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and RMF experience who thrives working independently on a DoD installation. This position is located on-site in Fort Drum, New York.

Highlights of Responsibilities:

Apply Windows OS, Virtual Machine, and application patches weekly; maintain central virtualization hosting and backup management consoles and GFE browser baselines; coordinate with Siemens and Trane for proprietary control-system patches.
  • Harden all hosts, Virtual Machines, and backup engines to DISA STIG/SRG requirements; deliver updated STIG checklists (.ckl) every quarter and remediate all Category I findings immediately.
  • Review weekly ACAS vulnerability scans, remediate critical/high findings, and maintain Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) for unresolved findings.
  • Maintain and update RMF artifacts (System Security Plan, Contingency Plans, Cybersecurity Diagrams) in eMASS to sustain the enclave's Authority to Operate.
  • Execute semi-annual incident response drills, maintain central log aggregation and audit retention, and produce after-action reports.
  • Maintain a real-time inventory of hardware, firmware, and software versions, and track lifecycle replacement schedules for all Government-owned hosts, backup systems, and switches.
  • Support transition and administration of modernized backup and server hardware as it's fielded to the enclave (per planned FRCS equipment refresh).
  • Provide Tier I/II on-site help desk support to DPW users, including installation and configuration of mission-specific desktop software.
  • Support DPW Property Book Officers during joint audits and provide monthly asset reports, maintaining strict segregation of duties between technical administration and physical property accountability.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Certifications: DoD 8140-approved privileged-user certification (Intermediate/Advanced SysAdmin level, e.g., Security+ CE)
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; equivalent work experience may substitute
  • Years of Experience: 2+ years of relevant systems administration/cybersecurity experience
  • Position-Specific Skills/Experience: Hands-on experience administering Windows Server environments, virtualization hosting (VMware/Hyper-V), and enterprise backup platforms (e.g., Veeam, Microsoft Azure Backup Server); working knowledge of DISA STIGs, ACAS scanning, and RMF/eMASS processes
  • General Skills: Strong patch-management, troubleshooting, and reporting skills (weekly/monthly reports, incident after-action reports); comfortable working independently on a DoD installation; proficient in Microsoft Office

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting for long periods
  • Standing for long periods
  • Ambulate throughout a facility, including server rooms and mechanical/control spaces
