Are you seeking to apply your analytical skills to assess U.S. Navy Undersea Warfare (USW) technologies and influence their future direction?

Are you looking for rewarding work with direct and immediate impact?

Do you enjoy analyzing challenging problems and executing technical and creative solutions?

If so, we're looking for someone like you to join our team at APL.

We are seeking a dynamic, intellectually curious individual to provide analysis and leadership in shaping Fleet capability and providing critical assessments of USW technology and operations. Our team works heavily with system data and observations, combining sound technical acumen, creative problem solving, and domain knowledge to develop relevant and novel concepts of operation and measurement approaches. Our team's findings are key drivers of innovation that push the boundaries of system capabilities and improve overall system utility.

As a member of this team, you will be supported by and collaborate with a complementary ensemble of analysts and subject matter experts, and will have ample opportunity to drive the direction of the work and present findings to decision makers. The Signal and Systems Analysis Group (KTA) is passionate about transforming DATA into KNOWLEDGE and is committed to a culture that prioritizes staff development, collaboration, and innovation.

As a USW System Capability Analyst, you will...

  • Design tests, metrics, and analysis methodologies that measure value added
  • Combine technical acumen with naval operational expertise to assess at-sea operations and contribute to the concept of operations for new USW technology areas (such as highly integrated systems and non-organic systems and sources)
  • Document, visualize, and communicate methodologies and results to technical audiences and decision makers
  • Research, investigate, and experiment with next-generation technologies and look for creative applications in unconventional ways
  • Collaborate across program boundaries to maximize insight and expand the team's impact
  • Appreciate the impact of your work by interacting with and responding to the needs of Fleet sailors
