Summary:
Performs skilled work in the general and specific operation, installation, repair and maintenance of hospital electrical systems, equipment and devices installed throughout hospital facility.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High School diploma or GED

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

oFour years of progressive experience in the maintenance and installation of electrical systems, equipment, and devices in institutional buildings and facilities as a journeyman electrician.

LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION
oNo licensure or certification required but is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to read, write, and speak English in order to communicate effectively.

Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, administration and the general public.

Must have manual dexterity in order to use tools related to position.

Must have knowledge of Local, State, and Federal laws that apply to individual position.

Must be experienced in working with voltages above 300 volts.

Must be able to comfortably lift 50 lbs.

Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Minimum 2-5 years of active electrical experience preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT

Frequently moves throughout the facility.

Frequently reviews written reports so must possess visual acuity.

Frequently climbs and balances on ladders and scaffolds.

Frequently uses motorized areal platforms (10 feet or above).

Frequently stoops, kneels, crouches, and crawls while preforming the duties of this position.
